Still no surround 5.1 on Gigabyte 945GME-DS2
The patch for acer 8940g didn't work for me. Even with the kernel 3.3.3-1, channels are mixed. Does anyone have a similar problem?

Please help me. New kernel 3.3.4, the problem is still here. I've managed to turn volume down for woofer, by dividing channel "Center", but that is not the point. I still don't have 5.1 surround.
Once again, sorry for my poor english.
ps. the pacth I was talking about is from here: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=139242 but that didn't work for me, which is ok, because I don't have that acer. I jus didn't think about it.

That's ambiguous. Anyway, take a look at my ~/.asoundrc and its entry for Doom3, which has the same problem, fixed using "ttable" lines.

Thanks for your answer! What should I do with asoundrc? Should I put it in my ~/, or should I change it somehow? Because, I've put it in ~/ and that crashes alsa after logout/login. Btw. I don't have asoundrc.

Just create ~/.asoundrc
You'll have to explain what you mean by "crashes alsa".

I meant ALSA has crashed.
I putted your .asoundrc in my home directory and than loged out and in and, firstly mixer in the taskbar crashed with message:
"Plugin "Mixer" unexpectedly left the panel, do you want to restart it?
The plugin restarted more than once in the last 60 seconds. If you press Execute the panel will try to restart the plugin otherwise it will be permanently removed from the panel."
- which heppens now all the time when I try to change volume with scrool button.
And I could not start alsamixer. I got a lot of error. Should I do it again and paste that error here?

That's not part of ALSA - it's merely a mixer app that uses ALSA.
I never said, "Use this file verbatim and it will solve all your problems." I said you should look at its Doom3 entry.
If you're a complete beginner in the format of the ~/.asoundrc file, then I suggest you do some googling and reading about it. E.g. what a "ttable" entry is, and how to redefine the "surround51" PCM.
