Scrolling -> odd behavior

Hi there,

Working on my business plan which contains OLE objects, I experience a very bad behavior on my macbook 2.16hz.

My laptop is not meant to be slow, even if not the warrior gaming killer (as far as I know smile )

Scrolling is definitely not smooth and scrolling OLE parts is a pain : slowing down slowing down. Tested with smoothscrolling activated or not.

I tried with another computer on Ubuntu, still with libreoffice : everything is ok.

Same behavior under firefox.

Is it a KDE problem ? Or a Arch misconfiguration since last updates ? everything was Ok last three weeks before the last one.

I think It might be driver related or something but... just don't really know. Did I delete a driver I should not have to ?

No log for performance issues.

Regards

Re: Scrolling -> odd behavior

Maybe the last xf86-input-synaptics update is responsible. I have noticed that my touchpad scrolling is also somewhat messed on my ASUS k50ij laptop. Not a big problem but i do see a different behaviour. Not that it is slow but somewhat faster, i think.

BTW - i have KDE also.

Re: Scrolling -> odd behavior

Ok, thanks to you, found that :

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/To … ed_options

It is the coasting speed that makes that..

putting it to 0 (synclient CoastingSpeed=0) did the trick.
I posted my question concerning Libreoffice, which remains unsolved, here https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=140343.

Many thanks
