nvidia downgrade problem / freezes with kernel 3.3.3 and nvidia 295.40

hey folks...

i want to downgrade my nvidia driver. when i do

pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/nvidia-295.33-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz

it says that it depends on linux.

when i do

pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/linux-3.2.8-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz

it says that it depends on nvidia...

what now? oO

you need to downgrade them both at the same time

ok, that worked.

but my x server will not start after downgrading linux kernel, nvidia and nvidia-utils. oO

looks like the known problem with the kernel and nvidia freeze. are there more packages that i have to downgrade?

Did you reboot?

yep, indeed. after reboot the x server will not start.
