I have an HP CP1525n printer, but I can't get it to work. It was working fine with Slackware 13.37, but I chose to switch to Arch, and it doesn't work now. It also works fine when plugged in a Windows 7 laptop.
There are no messages from dmesg or udevadm, and lsusb does not show anything. Is there a fix?
Thanks in advance.

I guess lsusb does show it?

I think I remember having to blacklist usblp for cups to work with usb-printers. Check the wiki?

I did check, and blacklisted usblp. The problem is that even the kernel won't recognise it. Nothing from dmesg, lsusb,or udevadm. Is it a known bug? It used to work in Slackware with a 3.x kernel, can't remember the exact release number.

Native or via CUPS?

I tried both.

Ok, I can only guess and tell you, what I did for my HP Laserjet 1020:
1. I went to AUR and installed the hplip-plugin
2. I followed the instructions on https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/CUPS and especially the chapter on Loading Firmware got it working for me.
Best regards

I had a printer that I could only work with cups-usblp (from the aur) not the standard cups package that uses the blacklisted usblp. Might be worth testing that.
