Hey,
I'm not exactly sure why, but I can't get the two finger scroll coast to work. Everything works with the trackpad as it should (two finger vertical and horizontal scroll, two finger right click, etc...) and the coasting used to work. It just suddenly stopped, and I'm wondering if anyone has encountered this before, or is now. This isn't a deal breaker but I do enjoy being able to give a quick flick of my fingers and launch a webpage down a few pages.
I'm running GNOME 3.2 with the standard xorg Synaptics drivers. This is an HP G-62, and like I said, this used to work and suddenly broke. I made sure coast_enable was selected in gconf-editor -> desktop -> gnome -> peripherals -> touchpad, but it still hasn't made a change.
Thanks!
Tom

and for everyone who cares, this post has been most useful

although still completely useless in the sense of a solution

So, isn't there a way to enable scroll coast?
In the previous xf86-input-synaptics version I had it. But with new version it's disabled!
I can't enable it!
