these will be immediately deleted from the AUR - it is against the AUR "rules" to post PKGBUILD for updated versions of pkgs already in current/extra

Uh, but my gtk 2.8 is modified, so it doesn't break the rule, right? But since it's based on glib 2.8 and some new pkgs who haven't been updated in official repos yet, what else can I do? Tell users to install dependencies that don't exist?! And I already use different names....

hmmmmm... it works as well as gtk 2.6 here, with nVidia's driver and compositing enabled.

I think he has a point. He's used names like gtk2-devel-aqd 2.8.1-1 which to me suggests that this a modified version. A bit like how the archck package is a modified kernel26, right?

Gtk 2.8 and deps have been added, and I just removed mine from AUR and am building a new gtk2-aqd smile)
