Re: (SOLVED) don't want update one package

Will not work. If you update the kernel you won't be able to load the nvidia module anymore. Make yoursef nvidia(-utils)-lolkitty package with the version you want, built against the kernel you are running instead.

Edit: and don't forget to rebuild it when there is a major kernel bump.

Re: (SOLVED) don't want update one package

let say that system will be updated not to offten... so every time when will be kernel upgrade I will reinstall nvidia package to load module...
newest nvidia is not working with nvidia 7025 / nforce 630a (getting error on gdm) and hangs. Hope older driver will help. Did someone heard about that problem ? google showing some problems but not exactly the same...

pacman.conf is that what I was looking for wink

Thanks!

Re: (SOLVED) don't want update one package

Known issue, but as I said, just make a custom nvidia(-utils) package with the version you want. Works much better than using the old package from the repos smile

Re: (SOLVED) don't want update one package

if that's a know issue can You please tell me how to fix it ? After installing nvidia 275.43 I can't get X to work at all... with driver I should use to get X work right?

"make a custom nvidia(-utils) package with the version you want" by that You mean that I should build package with different name right ? (for example "nvidia-good") than pacman will not ask for updating it ?

with version should work right with that xorg and my graphic card ?

edit
In case if someone will have simillar problem - nvidia drivers 295.33 FIXING problem. I found them in AUR,this one http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=58629

Thanks!
