[solved]Possible issue with forum search
This thread does not show up in a search for "xfce" in "Topic subject only".
Edit: apparently, all searches are "described" the same way, so nevermind the rest.
Also, the description for the search is
Topics with posts containing 'xfce'which seems like a poor description for a search in "Topic subject only".
Topics containing 'xfce'would be much more appropriate I think.

We already had such a bug: http://fluxbb.org/development/core/tickets/468/ As we never did anything to fix it, it's probably the same.

There's a particular cruelty in Arch having a broken forum search function, as often as people are admonished for not STFF.
If the function is known to be bugged, wouldn't it be responsible to point that out somewhere, if not remove it entirely?
But whether the Constitution really be one thing, or another, this much is certain - that it has either authorized such a government as we have had, or has been powerless to prevent it. In either case, it is unfit to exist.

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Main_Page tels you that you can use Google search too. Such a note for the forum would be nice.

DuckDuckGo has a "bang syntax" specifically for searching the arch forums (another reason to love DDG). It seems to work very well.

Did some more 'troubleshooting'. A topic search for 'xfce' will turn up results for topics containing ' xfce ', or xfce followed or preceded by certain characters such as , / ] ) but not 'xfce4' or "xfce'" among many others. But a search for 'xfce*' overcomes those shortcomings. It's great to have wildcard capability in searches, but I wonder how many others aren't aware of the consequences of not using it.
