I'm using a USB sharing switch to choose which computer gets the input from my mouse/keyboard. They are connected to a hub which is connected through the switch to my desktop and laptop.
I recently got a new, smaller and simpler hub, without fancy auto-detectino and such, which always seemed to mess up, but if I connect the new one, it breaks something in linux and the input devices don't respond anymore. If I have only one of the computer->switch cables connected it works, but if I connect the other one I get:
[ 1005.402688] usb 1-1.5.1: new full-speed USB device number 12 using ehci_hcd
[ 1005.482375] usb 1-1.5.1: device descriptor read/64, error -32

[ 1007.185177] hub 1-1.5:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 1in dmesg and no response. unloading and reloading the usbmodules and reconnecting (with only 1 computer->hub cable connected) makes it work again.
Anyone noticed anythin similar and have any ideas?
