amd-ucode in core and extra

I don't wish to install it or anything :-) but I noticed that amd-ucode is in core and extra, is this intentional?
Pacman -S amd-ucode
chooses the one from core (possibly because it is a slightly higher version than the one in extra?)

Anyway just wondering is it common to have the same package in two different repositories?
