Adopt the package and update the PKGBUILD.

Re: Cardapio menubar (Awn..)

Have you installed with any dependencies for cardapio from AUR?

Re: Cardapio menubar (Awn..)

This might work if you edit the PKGBUILD;

https://launchpad.net/~cardapio-team/+a … /+packages

A bit down you have the same package but for maverick.

Re: Cardapio menubar (Awn..)

Thanks to swanson i managed to edit and compile Cardapio, problem is it does not work.
I have installed Cardapio before so i know dependencies and requirements, but this one with maverick does not work - it compiles, install but does not work, too bad i really love that menubar, and i need this file cardapio_0.9.193-ubuntu1-oneiric1.tar.gz, why they removed it ....... is there any other place i can find it?

update tryed with adding only missing tar.gz + with all maverick source files, does not work

error after installation: 'module' object has no attribute 'CardapioPlugin' (AWN)

Learn.  In no way is cardapio an essential package for anyone; it's just another third-party menu program, and I'm guessing that "Right now [you] really need cardapio" just because it's what you're used to, and you aren't willing to try anything else.  Things are done quite differently on Arch; no one's gonna build the package for you, or maintain the PKGBUILD just because you want it.

The only reason the PKGBUILD exists is because someone, at some point, decided cardapio would be useful.  Some time later they changed their mind, and since no one has updated the package in the meantime, it seems not many other people fine it useful now either.  Therefore, expecting someone else to update it for you is senseless.  One of the packages has been abandoned for quite three-quarters of a year, and without updating the PKGBUILD you'll need to download, patch and compile the source by hand and manually install the files--which just isn't a very good idea.  Either go without for now, or learn how to modify PKGBUILDs manually.

Re: Cardapio menubar (Awn..)

Hi all!

I want to install cardapio too and I have found this problem: cardapio_0.9.193-ubuntu1-oneiric1.tar.gz has been deleted.

I have an idea and I have edited PKGBUILD in the sources section changing the deleted version with cardapio_0.9.193-ubuntu1-maverick1.tar.gz and changed the md5 checksum of this file related in this link: http://ppa.launchpad.net/cardapio-team/ … ce/Sources

It worked!
