xorg-server 1.12.1-2 breaks emacs [SOLVED]

Hi,

Recently I found emacs (both 23.4-2 and emacs-bzr) has a problem:

When cursor runs over text, some random texts are lost behind the cursor. They also randomly get recovered, at a time scale of order 1 second.

Here is an example: clearly some texts are lost in the 1st line.

I don't know where exactly the problem is. But when I downgrade xorg-server and xorg-server-common to 1.12.1-1, the problem is solved.

Note added: After today's update to xorg-server version 1.12.1.901-3, the problem is gone.

Just tried it on two of my machines with Emacs 23.4.1 but cannot reproduce your problem. Both machines have ATI cards with the open source driver xf86-video-ati. I am running XFCE, but that shouldn't make a difference.
What graphics card do you have and what driver are you using?

I also use ATI open source driver. I use KDE. (Also it shouldn't be a problem of emacs configuration because I tried 2 independent versions, with --no-init-file option.)

I am not sure if the bug is triggered by any other parts of my system. The only thing I know is downgrade xorg-server solves it.

Thanks! But it's a different bug. In my case, the text disappears only after the cursor runs through the text.

Re: xorg-server 1.12.1-2 breaks emacs [SOLVED]

I'm getting the same issue. WIth xorg-server-1.12.1.901-3-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz I get slight lag in my terminals that makes it unusable.
Keeping it at xorg-server-1.12.1-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz I get no lag.

@namtsui: Actually for me it's the opposite: with xorg-server-1.12.1.901-3 the problem is solved. The only problematic version for me is 1.12.1-2 ^_^
