ftdi device kernel crash after plugging in

Hi, I have lenovo x201 and since about a month ago, my kernel crashes after plugging in an ftdi device (tried with two different ones)

I think this might have started happening around a 3.3.1-1 -> 3.3.2-1 upgrade (possibly later, but not before)
downgrading the kernel to 3.3.1-1 didn't help.

my syslog starts speaking an alien language before crashing:

I've seen this in the movie called PI, and the guy said that his computer became self conscious. is my computer becoming self conscious?
