can't enlarge extended partition with Gdisk live. overlapping partions

My system was composed of
sda1 being Ubuntu
sda2 an extended container for my arch partitions
sda 5-9 being root, usr,var, and home.
I have deleted Ubuntu and have tried adding the space to the extended partitions but it fails with the cant have overlapping partitions error.
I'm not sure what im doing wrong.

Try doing it in two steps: first moving the partition and then enlarging it. The reason (I guess) is that gparted does not like un-allocated space on the extended partition at the beginning of it
