Problems compiling gcc44 or gcc45

Hi,

I'm trying to compile an older gcc for a project that needs it. I tried gcc44 and gcc45 from the AUR. Both error out after about a minute with the same error

checking for x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu-gcc... /tmp/gcc45/src/./gcc/xgcc -B/tmp/gcc45/src/./gcc/ -B/usr/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/bin/ -B/usr/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/lib/ -isystem /usr/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/include -isystem /usr/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/sys-include   
checking for suffix of object files... configure: error: in `/tmp/gcc45/src/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/libgcc':
configure: error: cannot compute suffix of object files: cannot compile
See `config.log' for more details.

If tried some thing that people in other forums suggested (setting LD_LIBRARY_PATH to the path of libgmp) but nothing worked. Any advice?

try building outside of /tmp

and try to compile 46 using 47 and 45 using 46 ans so son???
