I have pulseaudio. I only have diablo 3 to compare to. The sound works perfectly fine in diablo 3. But in TF2/CSS it stutters. And looking at the stream in kmix, it keeps appearing and disappearing like if the alsa stream to pulse audio is also stuttering.
I lost my old .wine directory, but everything used to work fine before I had to install steam and the games again.
wine-1.5.4
fixed: I had timer-based audio scheduling disabled, don't remember why.

tried all the solutions on the link, and different ranges with mixahead, but no luck.
Its killing my FPS, since too much of the CPU is needed for kmix and pulse to keep up with the stream spamming on and off.

I would take pulseaudio out of the loop, to see whether pulseaudio itself is creating the problem.

pulseaudio --kill doesn't seem to work (pulse keeps respawning), but I launched wine with pasuspender, and I just ended up with no sound.
