Upgrading libgl and ati-dri to version 8.0.3-1 considerably worsened my Radeon Mobility 7500 performance (about 10 times fewer fps in glxgears). I downgraded to the last version that had worked for me (7.11.2-1) and I am flying again. Maybe it is not a bug but a feature.

What are the numbers?
Perhaps something like vertical synchronization is enabled by default in the new version.
If its 60fps then that is the cause.

No, it is not the matter of vsync (about 120 fps). If someone wanted to investigate it, I could post my Xorg.0.log and glxinfo with both versions of these packages. Or maybe I should tell them - http://dri.freedesktop.org - about it. What do you think? I would be glad if there was someone willing to take care about this issue.
