I just tried for you, and it failed.
In file included from configdialog.cpp:32:0:
rigcontrol.h:24:24: fatal error: hamlib/rig.h: No such file or directory
compilation terminated.
make[1]: *** [../tmp/configdialog.o] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/tmp/packerbuild-1000/qsstv/qsstv/src/qsstv_7.1.7/src'
make: *** [sub-src-make_default-ordered] Error 2
==> ERROR: A failure occurred in build().
Aborting...
The build failed.
ewaller@odin:~[1] 1005 %packer -Ss hamlib
aur/hamlib 1.2.15-2 (45)

It would appear there is a dependency on aur/hamlib that is not in the PKGBUILD.
Giving that a try...
EDIT: Yep, that did it. qsstv built and installed only after installing hamlib. I cannot run it yet -- I installed it via a ssh session. I am not a HAM, so I probably won't be using this program; you may wan to leave a comment on the AUR qsstv page about the missing dependency.

Go ahead and edit your first post in the thread. There, you can edit the thread title and prepend [SOLVED].
Edit: Oh, and congratulations, and welcome to Arch. I've always thought the Ham culture was a perfect match for the Arch culture. I am an EE and was studying the no-code technician test; most of it was common sense and general EE knowledge; the law part was just memorization. Then I had kids; and realized that, like my pilot's license, the Ham license was an excuse to spend a lot of money I could no longer afford.
