hi, i've set up an gpt-lvm-arch system on my thinkpad R61. everything worked, but then i've edited 40_custom (after set chmod -x 10_linux) as follows:
menuentry "Arch Linux" {
insmod lvm
set root=(skynet00-boot_skynet00)
linux /vmlinuz-linux root=/dev/skynet00/root_skynet00 ro
initrd /initramfs-linux.img
}
menuentry "Arch Linux - Recovery" {
insmod lvm
set root=(skynet00-boot_skynet00)
linux /vmlinuz-linux root=/dev/arch/root ro
initrd /initramfs-linux-fallback.img
}
the name of my root-volume is: /dev/skynet00/root_skynet00 and "grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg" ran without problems. i tried to reset the changes from a liveusb-stick, but can't upgrade grub then...

i've forget the error message:-), after rebooting grub loads and when i select Arch Linux, or Arch Linux Recovery i get an error message:
error: disk 'skynet00-boot_skynet00' not found
error: you need to load the kernel first

Try
menuentry "Arch Linux" {
insmod lvm
insmod search_fs_file
search --file --no-floppy --set=root /vmlinuz-linux
linux /vmlinuz-linux root=/dev/skynet00/root_skynet00 ro
initrd /initramfs-linux.img
}
menuentry "Arch Linux - Recovery" {
insmod lvm
insmod search_fs_file
search --file --no-floppy --set=root /vmlinuz-linux
linux /vmlinuz-linux root=/dev/arch/root ro
initrd /initramfs-linux-fallback.img
}

sorry for the late reply. i've reinstalled arch before seeing your post. if (or better when) it happens again, i'll try it that way..
