[SOLVED] Can't boot after upgrade: initramfs unpacking failed

After my latest pacman -Syu, when I boot I get:

Initramfs unpacking failed: junk in compressed archive
/usr/bin/ash: error while loading shared libraries: libc.so.6 cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!
Pid: 1, comm: ini Not tainted 3.3.7-1-ARCH #1
Call trace: [......]

From a chroot environment I've tried updating glibc, linux, mkinitcpio and still getting the same thing. Anyone have any ideas?

Re: [SOLVED] Can't boot after upgrade: initramfs unpacking failed

For what it's worth, I do see /usr/bin/ash and /usr/lib/libc.so.6 when I look at "lsinitcpio /boot/initramfs-linux.img".

Also, changing the mkinitcpio compression to "cat" doesn't change anything.

wow....would help if I chroot'd into the right partition. Once I did, the standard "mkinitcpio -p linux" trick worked. Sorry for the false alarm smile
