[solved]3 downloads. three tries... and the same error

I don't know if it's cause de BIOS. I update my BIOS to a recent one (2201)

I've tried let less partitions, mark just one as "primary", try install (/) as primary and (/home) as extended, both as primary, but nothing happens

I receive the same issue during arch is formatting the /home partition. I've tried use brtfs, ext4 ext3 and the same issue again

tried acpi=off, noapic, both, and nothing new again. It stays like the picture and no more activity

My machine
Asus m4a88td-v EVO/usb3
Bios 2201
amd phenom X4 955be @ 3,61Ghz
8gb memory Gskill sniper T9

Re: [solved]3 downloads. three tries... and the same error

My guess: your hard disc is broken.

edit: You should probably change the title to an appropriate one (I suggest "arch installation fails to format HD").

edit: Just to rule out that arch linux is the problem: Try formatting in another live disc, for example Gparted live disc.

Maybe fdisk doesn't like your HDD. Which make/model is it? One of those new SATA 6Gb/s?

Anyway, just use gparted (from GParted Live, Parted Magic, Ubuntu, etc) and create the partitions beforehand.

I don't think that fdisk don't like me. It's not to bad to do this, eheheh. Its a Samsung HD 753LJ. I owned this about 2 years

If you think you can handle it, you can install Arch from a LiveCD using these instructions; https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/In … ion_Chroot

Re: [solved]3 downloads. three tries... and the same error

well. I tryed with some Seagate tools, that say me that were a X number of connection fails..... I've changed the sata cable...... Tryed again, and what is shown is "no action needed" and just the warning.....

I'll try again
========================
yeah.... it was cable problems.

New one installed, and installed arch.... but I'm with another trouble. Let's go.....
