Hey All,
I have an HP Officejet Pro 7680 and have installed the hplip drivers. I have added myself to LP, SYS, ADMIN, and some other groups but when I try to add the printer via hp-toolbox, it says it can't communicate with the printer, however, it does show the printer in the configuration screen. This is a network printer also.
When I try to add the printer from the command line as root, it says
[root@linuxbox ~]# hp-setup -i
HP Linux Imaging and Printing System (ver. 3.12.4)
Printer/Fax Setup Utility ver. 9.0

I've always just used the cups web interface, works fine every time - have you tried it that way?
<edit>Apologies, you've already done that.... ![]()

You got avahi installed? Changed the symlink to python 2.7? Checked /etc/cups/client.conf?
Tell us what you've done so far...

HI there,
Yes, I have avahi installed and running. HP-Toolbox can find the device and even offers to install, but then looses connection with it when I try to do the final setup of the printer.
I have not tried the symbolic link to python or checked clients.conf, Could you be more specific on these items?
Thanks!
Joe
