Grub Error

I currently use debian's grub as my main bootloader. Once I reboot and when I get to grub's menu, the choice for arch doesn't work, I get this error message about error 27: command not recgonized.

Here is a copy of the archlinux entry in grub's menu.lst

# This entry is for archlinux 0.7
# linux installation on /dev/hda6
# (0) Arch Linux
title  Arch Linux 0.7
root   (hd0,5)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz26 root=/dev/discs/disc0/part6 ro

Any ideas/suggestions?

Thnx.

Re: Grub Error

Thanks for the reply. I added the devfs=nomount to the kernel line but still getting the same error message. I'm using Debian's grub menu.lst.

This is what I see when I choose Arch to boot.

Booting 'Arch Linux 0.7'
Root (hd0,5)
Filesystem type is ext2fs, partition type 0x83
kernel /boot/vmlinuz26 root=/dev/discs/disc0/part6 ro devfs=nomount
[linux-bzImage, setup=0x1400, size=0x2917b7]
default=0

Error 27: Unrecognized Command

I can't figure out which one is the Unrecognized Command!

Thanks again.

Re: Grub Error

It's simply 'default 0'; no '=' sign. Take a look at http://www.gnu.org/software/grub/manual/grub.html

I didn't try that but I added, 'savedefault & boot' to the end of the grub entry and it seems to have fixed it.

I'm using Arch now and enjoying it again. I'm still doing some post configuration since I did a base install.

Thnx for the replies.
