Hi,
I know there's a very similar recent thread, but it didn't help me and I didn't want to hijack it
The fonts on certain websites with firefox look awfull, only one I can think of right now is www.bash.org It looks fine in Opera, its just firefox and moziila.

bash.org in opera: http://cqr.nu/monotux/img/opera.png
and in firefox: http://cqr.nu/monotux/img/firefox.png
I think it's more about your preferences than anything else.
To err is human... to really foul up requires the root password.

Its when I look at the actual quotes that it looks wrong, I've tried playing with preferences but no luck.

Sorry for bumping, but does anyone understand what I mean in this thread? I'll try and post screenshots if it'll help.

I've been using Linux for more than six years now, and have always had various fonts issues, no matter what I've tried. Installing the MS corefonts just makes things worse, in my opinion.
Anyway, to make fonts always look good in Firefox, I go to fonts & colors in preferences and put a check mark in "always use my fonts". This might not be an acceptible method for everyone, but it's the only way I've been able to make the fonts look good no matter which site I visit.

Odd, I have not had font issues in Firefox since I set my DPI to a standard, being 96DPI. I also use Verdana in Firefox as default, and let websites use their own fonts.
Perhaps your issue is related to DPI? :?:
forkboy: Screenshots would be useful.

Wow, that is bad! Well, those fonts are monspaced fonts so a guess that is something to go on...
Try changing your monospace font setting in firefox to a good monospace font - check what opera is using...
