Hi.
I have just upgraded to KDE 4.8.4 and thank you Andrea for all your work.
KDE 4.8.3 was really stable and the fresh new released KDE 4.8.4 is really instable
When I launch Kjots, I get a Akonadi Nepomuk Feeded crash : http://pastebin.com/uci5krvw
When I launch KMail, I get another crash : http://pastebin.com/9zKESP4y
When I launch Gwenview, I get another crash : http://pastebin.com/yMihgcGm
When I click an icon in Dolphin, I get a crash : http://pastebin.com/CCB69Wzg
(I know the stacktrack is not complete, I just want a feedback)
Do you have this crashes ?

HI, upgraded this morning, I got this crash too, basically kmail is unusable now, it crash at startup, I had to temporarily install Thunderbird to read my mails.
Also the other program mentioned crashed however I usually don't use them.

After upgrade everything works fine - kmail, dolphin, gwenview,... Only one annoyance. When i switch virtual desktop i get on a screen for a half of a second an image of "login splash" (you know the splash you get when you have just logged in). But this is just a little disturbance.
About kmail - for the first time i launch kmail it won't start. Next time it will. This is a regular practice for my arch.
EDIT: i have logged out/in and the issue disappeared about switching desktops.

If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put foundations under them.

Oh... it seems that there is some bug with semantic desktop system. I dont use it, so there isnt much that i can do.

I disabled Nepomuk Semantic Desktop in System setttings then I restarted my session.
Kjots, Kmail, Dolphin, Gwenview, etc. are now working.
Thank you rascas for the tips.
I will keep Nepomuk disabled until the crashes are fixed.
I reported the bug : https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/30190

Well i think that, even this minor versions of kde should pass some time in [testing] before hitting [extra].
One of the things that i like most in arch is the "bleeding edge" thing, but things like this could be avoided, like, staying one day in [testing].
Just my humble opinion...

Check the last comment from Andrea. The fix works. Sometimes it takes a little time for a fix, but in my experience it always comes and usually quickly.

Yes, when I builded soprano from git, kmail and most stuff started to work. But it didn't fix my problem with bangarang. I think that is related somehow?

Same here. Kontact and Kmail crashing with a segfault when I try to send a new email or reply to one. Happens every time. Disabling the semantic desktop makes kmail complain, that it cannot autocomplete the contacs anymore.

Same here, after every kde-pim update I'm checking if they have fixed the virtual folder functionality in Kmail, but it is always broken. After 4.8.4 it is even more screwed..
