Suspend to RAM and Memory Hole BIOS issue

I have a Zotac Geforce 8200-ITX motherboard which never resumed from STR (suspend to RAM) and I have been working on this problem for months. Today I finally came across this post:

The solution was to disable the Memory Hole Remap feature in the DRAM Configuration of the BIOS. Apparently the upper 1GB (of 4GB RAM) was somehow not being read back properly on resume. This only affects any 64 bit operating system (including Windows).

Although STR is now working great I have consequently lost the upper 1GB of RAM. Not that I ever use it but I am wondering if anyone out there knows any Linux solutions to recovering the upper 1GB???

I have sent a tech support ticket to Zotac hoping they may eventually do a BIOS upgrade, but I am not holding my breath....

I suppose you are too much, you really shouldn't hold your breath

If there is any option for changing where the memory is remapped to you may want to try a few different values and see if it makes any difference.
