I am a new user to Arch, and have had no problems what-so-ever, until I tried to fire up irssi. I've searched the forums, but can't seem to find anyone else with this problem.
Here's the problem...
When typing:
$ irssi
nothing happens, it just goes back to the bash prompt.
Does anyone know what would cause this? Any help would be appricated.
Extra Info:
* Installed from pacman
* Version 0.8.9-7

Hmmm, try doing "mv ~/.irssi ~/irssibak" then start irssi - it's possible some configuration could be screwing it up...
If that fails, try running "pacman -S ncurses perl irssi" and say yes - those are the only things and could think of that, if broken, would also break irssi....

:oops:
I feel so stupid, I thought I had updated perl and ncurses, but apparently I hadn't. Everything is working, cheers phrakture, you hit the nail right on the head.

Heh... it's still kinda odd how they could have broken - though I guess perl causes problems when upgrading from one version to another... alot of people have perl issues....
