I have a Fujitsu Lifebook E751vPro with an integrated 3G USB Modem. This used to work flawlessly with kde, networkmanager, modemmanager and kdeplasma-applets-networkmanagement. Now I upgraded my laptop with pacman -Syu and mobile broadband connections don't show up anymore in kdeplasma-applets-networkmanagement. I have all testing repos enabled.
installed:
kdeplasma-applets-networkmanagement 1:0.9.0.2-1
networkmanager 0.9.4.0-6
networkmanager-dispatcher-openntpd 1.0-3
networkmanager-dispatcher-sshd 1.0-2
networkmanager-openvpn 0.9.4.0-1
modemmanager 0.5.2.0-2

So the modem seems to be recognized and initialized. But why Qualcomm??
Again: this configuration worked before. Any clues?

I fear this is a kernel bug. They added some lost IDs back in 3.4.3, but they seem to have missed mine...

net: sierra_net: device IDs for Aircard 320U++
commit dd03cff23d694cfb0fdae80cb618e7ced05ea696 upstream.
Adding device IDs for Aircard 320U and two other devices
found in the out-of-tree version of this driver.
how can I verify this guess?

Since nobody seems to have an idea I filed a bug report

Solved. See bug report for further information. You can circumvent this for now by blacklisting module qmi_wwan which gets bound to the third modem interface accidently. Hopefully the fix is in the next kernel release.

Marking this as solved - well, sort of.
