Hi guys,
I've build a new rig:
I5 3570K
Asrock z77 extreme 4 motherboard
8GB ram
Crucial m4 128GB SSD
I've booted Gparted and partitioned the SSD like this:
1. 512 MiB FAT32 partition (for the UEFI or somthing)
2. 20GB root partition EXT4
3. all the rest as EXT4 for /home
I also made a bootable USB drive of arch 64Bit.
When I first boot from the flash drive I've encountered the "30 seconds" error.
But after changing the flash drive title to "ARCH_201108" and then trying again the "30 seconds" error was gone but now then system is loading some things and then my screen goes to standby and I don't now how to run the install without having my screen going to standby.
Thanks ahead for the help guys.

OK... So archboot worked and I was able to install the system. Thanks for the help!
While installing I chose rEFInd as a bootloader instead of GRUB2, How can I remove rEFInd and install GRUB2 instead? Or should I just stay with rEFInd?

Boot into Archboot, mount all the local partitions, and then select grub2-efi-x86_64 (or whatever its called) in the bootloader menu. But I recommend staying with rEFInd+EFISTUB rather than using GRUB2. Just my opinion.
Do not forget to mark the thread as [SOLVED].

Simplicity. Easy to debug if some problems occur.

OK got it, last question:
The default install ISO of arch gave me blank screen because the kernel wasen't updated or what?
I just want to understand what actuualy caused the problem.

No specific idea. Might be missing or incompatible framebuffer driver.

Sure. It could be a KMS issue.
For instance, the Nvidia open source driver ("nouveau") is part of the kernel, so if you have a newer video card with an older kernel (2011.08.19)... issues like the screen going black (power saving, perhaps) may occur.

I use the integrated Intel HD4000 graphics so it's kind of new.

There you have it then. "Ivy Bridge" came out in April 2012 (according to Wikipedia).
