I am having problems with running Arch on my Acer laptop having intel video card. I am having a number of problems and I think all these are related to the X and my intel video card driver.

1. I have to add a line i915.modeset=0 as a boot parameter without which my screen would go black.
2. However If I add i915 to the MODULES array in mkinitcpio file I still get the blank screen this time much
earlier if dont add the boot parameter.
3. When I login successfully with i915.modeset=0 I am not able set resolution of my screen and the output of my
   xrandr is

xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default
Screen 0: minimum 1024 x 768, current 1024 x 768, maximum 1024 x 768
default connected 1024x768+0+0 0mm x 0mm
   1024x768 61.0*

I dont have an xorg.conf file I attaching my 90-monitor.conf file
