ck kernel config question

I understand that the ck patches are aimed at decreasing latency without preempting the kernel. My question is: Should the "Preempt the Big Kernel Lock" be enabled with ck patches?

Re: ck kernel config question

So one should use the "No Forced Preemption" Preemption model then too?

Re: ck kernel config question

Hi,

As mentioned you do not need the pre-empt set.  Additionally, it is worth reading up on the additional patches applied to the CK kernel.  I've run the CK kernel for quite a while and have found it extremely performant for a desktop system.  However, you should not use it for a server, that is not what it is designed for

Re: ck kernel config question

So, no prempt in the kernel options at all?  Not even the desktop one or the big kernel lock?
