So there are many posts on the web that claim that Google Chrome has supported PulseAudio since last year (e.g here). Unfortunately, PA is not yet the default audio driver for the browser. This question has been asked on Google Chrome's support forum to no avail, so I'll try to ask it here. How do I make Chrome register with PulseAudio?
At the moment, when google chrome is playing audio, PulseAudio cannot (and vice versa). This changes when PA is set to output through a different device, in which case, pulse plays through the newly selected device and chrome plays through the original speakers.

I have gnome3 installed and pulse audio plugin works for both chrome and mplayer at the same time.

I have gnome3 installed as well, but neither Chrome, Chromium, or Firefox successfully register with PulseAudio.

If chrome is using alsa, then installing pulseaudio-alsa should solve that (and for all other applications currently using alsa).

I do not want chrome to use alsa. I would prefer that chrome use pulseaudio, which it supposedly supports.
In addition, pulseaudio-alsa is already installed.
