target not found for pacman

I did pacman -Syy which updated the repositories
but everytime I try to install a program it says 'target not found'
I definetly have a network connection as I am using the forum from the same PC

Are you sure you are typing the package name correctly? Did you try a different mirror?

Also, don't -Syy and then install something. Always -Syu or -Syyu.

Paste what exactly are you trying to install, your command and pacman's output.
Please always post input and output so we can see what exactly are you trying to install, what other info or errors are being printed by the program etc.
