[Solved] Xorg/video problem (Lenovo Ideapad S110)

Hi there! I'm getting an issue with my Lenovo Ideapad S110.

After full system install I installed xorg and xf86-video-intel (video card is Intel GMA 3600). I run startx and it exits with error "No devices detected".

Then I installed xf86-video-vesa and run startx - it works but in 800x600 (not in 1024x600). And after exit openbox the picture of console is corrupted, on next console (Ctrl+Alt+F2) the same.

How can I get it work with intel driver and change resolution?

(sorry for bad English)

It looks like xf86-video-intel will not work for this card.  A quick googling turns up numerous angry rants agains intel because there are no open source drivers for this (And a few related) video chips.

There do seem to be solutions outthere - but most of these were on ubuntu pages.  Reading ubuntu'ers solutions always gives me a headache: I don't want to click anything, I want to know what is actually going on.

here is one example.  This will not likely solve the problem, but it may get you searching on the right track.

See this Wiki article:

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Intel_gma3600

You probably only get basic support.

xf86-video-fbdev package requires a glibc library as a dependency; but it is included into the libc6 package I'm having installed (I'm running ubuntu 11.04).
Please, help me with this issue - how can I install xf86-video-fbdev?
