Hi all,
I'm running Arch on my Asus F8sg laptop with nvidia 9300M G VGA card ,
I was put my laptop to S3 state by "sudo pm-suspend", its went to sleep very fast, but when i wake it up, there's no graphic, capsLock led just blink, then restart after about 1 minute.
Here my pm-suspend.log:

Stuck,
any help?

If you have an nvidia card then try removing vga=... from the kernel parameters, or if you're using uvesafb then disable it (remove the v86d hook in /etc/mkinitcpio.conf).

See this thread at nV News forum: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=179956

Thanks for reply friends,
@Arpione
I have no vga=... kernel parameters but resume=...
Here's my kernel line in menu.lst: kernel /vmlinuz-linux root=/dev/sda3 ro resume=/dev/sda4
and i'm not using uvesafb, too.
@laloch
This thread has not marked as SOLVE yet,
May i'll wait for newer driver or go look for another solution?

It depends on your needs. For me the lack of the suspend/resume functionality is an acceptable trade-off for monitor hotplug and RandR support. This is what Pierre-Loup Griffais says about this issue in the aforementioned nV News thread:
Our intention is to roll out the fixes for these critical issues as soon as possible in the upcoming 304 release series.
edit: btw, there is rather funny "solution" of the issue in the latest NVIDIA blob. You can see it in your /var/log/kernel.log ![]()
NVRM: Your system is not currently configured to drive a VGA console

PS: I was switch to Nouveau driver and anything... worked fine. But i like nVidia driver. Hope the new will fix this bugs.

Hi guys,
I also have a very similar issue. The thing is that when I run pm-suspend, the system enters in S3 state (suspend to RAM) seamlessly. The problem is that when it wakes up, the screen gets blank. Since it receives no signal from the graphic card, after a few seconds, it turns off completely. The funny thing is this problem has appeared all of a sudden. I have been using pm-suspend actively for several months, but somehow, a few days this problem came up.
I have checked in forums looking for a solution and done several tests (including unload nvidia driver, suspend the system from console and many other things) but everything unsuccessfully.
Here you have my pm-suspend.log file:

I got the right configuration to disable the VGA connection and it worked out.
Any idea about what might be happening?
Best regards.
EDIT1: The above issue is happening in my desktop PC, it's not a laptop.
EDIT2: I got it to work back again by downgrading to nvidia 2.9.5-2. Because of this, I had to downgrade linux to 3.4.5-1 and virtualbox-modules to 4.1.18-3. The nvidia drivers 302.17 have caused me a milliard of problems. So, I've decided not upgrade them again until the new release having the 304 version is out!

I also had this issue on my Toshiba Satellite A500 (nVidia 230M). Installing nouveau helped.
I hope nvidia will fix it. Such a shame... ;-)
