I have a completely working system in my laptop and i wanted to install arch on a usb drive.
For this, i installed aif
extra/aif 2011.10.09-2 [installed]
The ArchLinux Installation Framework
I boot my kde, login with y user and open a terminal and run:
sudo aif -p interactive
the menu appears, but just in the same moment i try to enter the first submenu
"1 Select source"
I get kicked back to the shell with this error message:
"ERROR: ask_checklist makes only sense if you specify at least 1 thing (tag, item and ON/OFF switch)"
I already performed a search with no luck.... what can be the problem?
Thanks!

No idea about the error you're getting there; but perhaps give Installing it from your existing system a try.

But even though.... its strange, isn't it? Its the very same installation framework used by the live cds when you install arch.... should work.... kind of strange it does not... specially when i use this live usb for using wherever i go,... and if i can use aif directly from my console to leave a sistem installed when i go, it would be wonderful...... is there a way i report this or research it a bit more?...sorry for insisting..... i think its a pretty important part of the system.... god, its the arch installation framework.....
Thanks!

Have you checked: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/AI … ile#SOURCE?
edit: It might be irrelevant since you are running it interactively, but the error suggest it doesn't find a source.
