Can I disable system beep for some things only?

Title kinda says it all
System beep when hitting backspace in an empty input field (eg. in Chromium) is annoying as hell, but I don't want to give up audible pings.
The low battery system beep is also nice to have, but that seems to come from another place entirely.
Is this possible?

i'm afraid its not possible i've searched around and many say that the source of the beep/chime/system bell is from the motherboard itself, and hence, removing the system beep would cause the system to lose the beeps in pings and low battery.

if you do decide to remove the beep globally, the guide can be found in arch wiki.

perhaps consider using a different browser, or (i'm not sure if the beeps are still in) a chromium derivative from AUR?

One workaround would be to disable that beep but set up another audible tone for when the battery is low.  This should be pretty easy with acpi.

I'm afraid nothing is easy with acpi on my system
It doesn't act properly at boot (posted about it here, but no solution was found)
Anyway, I usually just blacklist the pcspkr module, which doesn't disable the low-battery beep.
It does disable the audible pings however..
I think all this is a little wierd?

maybe, just maybe, the low battery beep, is not a system beep, but an audio file being played?

and sorry to ask, but is there a reason why you need audible ping, or is it just something you happen to just prefer?
