Ok, since so many people have volunteered to do stuff, i have decided that the best way to figure out what they should do is by having them post which group of packages they would like to maintain. The way it will work is after someone has compiled a package they can upload it to my server with the pkgbuild. So you need to know how to use subversion, if you don't know right now thats ok, i'm still trying to figure it out myself ;-p
I am volunteering myself for the xfce4 group. I will also maintain the base packages. I still need to contact creepy to see if he wants to help with those. An installation cd is on the way, and the current.db.tar.gz will be up soon. Also, SUBSCRIBE TO THE MAILING LIST! http://archlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/arch-ports

I don't really want to pick a group, since I only want to maintain packages I use personally (that way they are automatically tested as I use them). I can do Java and Python packages. I'm not sure how many I can maintain due to not knowing how much time I'll have.

thats ok too. you don't have to do a group if you don't want to.

ok, the extra.db.tar.gz is up. xfce4 is built and the pkgbuilds in subversion! what i am really looking for now is for someone to help with the install cd and someone to help me trackdown the pacman bug. what happens is pacman -Syu is broken. It will download a package to install but it will always say the package is corrupted. If someone can help me fix that then that would be great.
