I hope for your help as I can't find any answers on google.
I've got Asus N73SV laptop which has an Philips USB IR receiver included. The problem is when I boot with this receiver connected
my keyboard and mouse (also usb) are frozen when gdm screen first appears. After some (30-60sec) they get unfrozen and
I'm able to work just fine.
That's part of my lsusb, the first line is the radio receiver of Microsoft's keyboard/mouse kit and second it the IR receiver.
Bus 003 Device 005: ID 045e:071d Microsoft Corp.
Bus 003 Device 006: ID 0471:206c Philips (or NXP) MCE IR Receiver - Spinel plusf0r ASUSI had this problem on Ubuntu earlier (but in case of Ubuntu the keyboard/mouse stay frozen forever).
Does anybody have any thoughts? At least which subsystem do I look at? Which logs to inspect?

Thanks but that's not the case. I've found the keyboard works fine in the console mode. My laptop's built in keyboard works always, so I'm able to switch to vt and check.
So it's X. Also I've noticed this depends on some I/O, i.e. after some time I see the hdd led blinks once and key/mouse become working.
Any ideas?

Laptop's built-in keyboard and touchpad ALWAYS work fine. What is that? Too many input devices? (keyboard, touchpad, external keyboard, mouse, ir receiver).
Any ideas please?
