Love the forum updates! ...and a suggestion.

Nice job on all the changes to the forums.  Like it very much.  In fact, I think the new functionality makes this forum the coolest I've seen.

I'm biased.  smile

And...I was thinking maybe a button for the http://art.archlinux.org site could be added?

Re: Love the forum updates! ...and a suggestion.

It took few seconds to realize I am in the Arch Forums and there was no mistake in the url. For years seeing the same layout could not believe there is a change. smile

Great!

adding an art.archlinux icon would be cool. Also, a quicky suggestion, could you decrease the gap between the title and the 'new topic' buttons a bit? (I assume its a simple css fix).

Errrr - I can have a look

Moderator Note: .:edit:.

That is an illusion caused by a lack of named moderators on this board smile

No, it's caused by the lack of pagination links, as soon as the topic goes on to several pages that gap should be filled

...and I was just screwing about with the [mod] bbcode there

Not very subtle is it?  We must be able to do something about that...

Re: Love the forum updates! ...and a suggestion.

Moderator Note: Reduction in size and more friendly colour?

Should just be as simple as reducing the bang (!) font and changing the hex colour - actually, I can probably remove the ! and add any text at all...

.:edit:.

Yeah, it's just CSS for colour and font and the ! is an inserted bit of text:

<span class="exclamation" title="Moderator warning">         ! </span></td>      <td><span class="genmed"><b>dibblethewrecker:</b></span></td>   </tr>   <tr>      <td class="mod">Reduction in size and more friendly colour?</td>

Suggestions as to what to change it to?

.exclamation {
    font-weight: bold; font-family: Times New Roman, Verdana; font-size : 30px; color: #ffffff;
}

td.ModTable { background-color: #0099CC; }

Try that in your firefox "Edit CCS"

It would be cool if we could do it per user but that would be a bit beyond me!

Re: Love the forum updates! ...and a suggestion.

changing the background to a friendly colour like blue might be good enough.... Or you could change the exclamation point to a colon and a bracket. : )
