dzen2 settings in Xresources not working

Hi,

I have followed exactly what it says here http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Dzen#Configuration but dzen does not pick up the font or colours specified in ~/.Xresources.

I have tried the svn version and that picks up the font but not the colours. Any idea what could be wrong?

Posting the relevant section of your .Xresources would be of some assistance...

I used the example on the wiki (green on black):

dzen2.font:       -*-fixed-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
dzen2.foreground: #22EE11
dzen2.background: black

That is all I have in the file.

That looks fine. Have you run

xrdb -merge ~/.Xresources

I can't make this work either, and I can't find any documentation (other than the Arch wiki) that says it's supposed to work. It's not in the man page for dzen2, and so far my ixquick searching has found nothing relevant. The -fg and -bg command-line options work as advertised, but I can't change anything with .Xresources.

Works fine here. I use dzen2-svn for xft support...

Yes sorry I should have said, I do run that after editing the file.
