First I am a novice so bear with me. I recently installed Arch Linux on my Dell laptop. Then ran into PGP enforcement when downloading from the extra db. So tried to use GnuPG to generate keys. All went well until the "Change (N)ame, (C)omment, (E)mail or (O)kay/(Q)uit line. When I chose "O" for okay, I got the following error lines:
pinentry: error while loading shared libraries: libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory.
gpg-agent[340]: can't connect to the PIN entry module: End of file
gpg-agent[340]: command get_passphase failed: No pinentry
gpg: problem with the agent: No pinentry
gpg: Key generation canceled.
I am assuming the shared lib libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0 does not exist which seems to me to be an install problem. Can anyone help me?

Did you follow the Beginners' Guide?
You need to use pacman-key as described there: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Be … rification.

Thank you for replying. I shamefully admit I did not follow the Beginners Guide and once I did it solved the problem. I hope it will not happen again!
