[SOLVED] No sound whatsoever

For the record, I am quite exhausted so I will come up with more details tomorrow unless it gets solved by then.

i. My netbook has been playing audio all day today gloriously
ii. All packages are synchronized & up to date.
iii. I attempted to play music (via earphones roughly an hour ago to no avail, tried with a different source and on videos, still a negative.
iv. Attempted the same scenario again (removed earphones to make sure that was no the issue, speakers did not play any sound).
v. Alsamixer is unmuted, and at 100%
vi. Same with LXDE's sound manager (Which is really just a GUI version of Alsamixer?)

I cannot really find a logical explanation to why this is happening. tongue
Thanks, any help is much appreciated!

Re: [SOLVED] No sound whatsoever

Are you using Pulseaudio? If so, have you looked at a Pulseaudio mixer? Are there any other audio devices on the system? Are the headphones just plugged into an audio jack or are they USB?

Re: [SOLVED] No sound whatsoever

My apologies, I overlooked something last night. Turns out both channels on alsamixer were in fact muted. This thread is solved, thanks! big_smile
