Can you post the output of
pacman -Qs skype
and then the output of
pacman -Qi skype
(amending the name of the package as necessary)
Also
ls -l $(which skype)
may be of use.

still haven't figured out

Using glic from multilib and not multilib-testing resolved problem for me:
sudo pacman -S multilib/lib32-glibc
works fine after doing this
