Can't mount USB storage

The machine is seeing USB storage, but I can't get it to mount no matter what I try. Here is the output of messages.log when I plug in my cell phone, for instance:

I'm running Gnome on a two day recently updated system. So I'm up-to-date. This problem has been happening for at least a month.

fdisk -l gives me

lsusb shows it right away:

The phone is set to ask about media storage, but other USB storage won't mount either (SD card reader).

modprobe usb-storage lists nothing.

output of  "blkid -o list -c /dev/null" is just my mounted drives. No USB device in sight.

My phone does not appear to think that a computer is trying to connect to it. Obviously I can't see what a USB card reader is thinking...

I can push files to my phone using adb that way, so the connection is solid, the computer just isn't bothering to deal with the USB mass storage.

Any ideas?

I 'm not sure if you have tried this, but did you put your phone in debugging mode and allow it to connect to PC?

I accidentally reported your post instead of replying....

Sorry, it's still 90 degrees in my apartment, this heat wave is brutal...

Anyway: It's in debugging mode now, which is why I can adb push to the phone. The phone should (and has in the past) mounted USB storage even in debugging mode.

That wouldn't change the fact that no other USB mass storage will mount either. I'm just using my phone as an example. USB Hard drives and my SD card reader don't show up either, but I can't do a "push" command to those like I can my phone...

The device does not show up as /dev/sd* as a mountable drive. I have a weird sdd, sde, and sdf drives there, but nothing mountable on any of them. None of the other manual mounting techniques have worked that I have tried. I'll look over those things again though.

Nope nothing.

Everything indicates the device is recognized by the system, but no partition table for the mass USB storage loads. The USB device exists, but no mountable drive.

Perhaps you will find that .....ldm....package will solve your mount problem....................
