xcompmgr and SDL
Has anybody figured out how to run SDL programs while using xcompmgr? Whenever I try to run any SDL programs the colors are all white and a large portion of the window is transparent.
I'm using the nvidia driver, and OpenGL apps work fine, it's just the SDL ones that don't work. This has happened for me on both Arch and Ubuntu.

xcompmgr has issues with 3D, period. Ever notice that framerates decrease dramatically when Composite is enabled?

Nope. I actually noticed framerates improving. It also improved the performance of X for me as well.
Oh, and like I said, xcompmgr works fine in 3D, it's SDL (2D) that is giving me problems.
