Annoying audio-input problem

I have a really strange and annoying problem. Everytime I boot up, I have to change the mic-volume in Audacity for any audio-input to work.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? I've had this since I installed Arch Linux.

Re: Annoying audio-input problem

I assume you've read this.

Is there anything that sets volume during startup?  Check rc.local.

Re: Annoying audio-input problem

No, that did not help. I still have to set the audio-input volume in Audacity every time I reboot.
