[Solved] Overwrite disk with shred

I encrypt disk with LUKS. Is it good idea to overwrite it with shred instead /dev/urandom? I mean, for security reasons

I used shred for a 40GB harddrive once, and it worked just fine. You would want to do 3 runs at maximum on a standard sized disk, because it can take long.
There is no need to watch the output so start the command, and use your time for something else.

Before encryption, I overwrite the 640G disk 3 times with shred. It took only 7 hours. I believe that everything is ok.
