When I try to set the path such as downloading files (transmission-gtk), or place an archive (file-roller) environment automatically sets them to the highest available folder. The condition is that in the current folder, it must be only one folder.
For example, I have the directory structure:
- /
- /stock/
- /stock/downloads/
- /stock/downloads/incomplete/
When using file-roller to compress anything in the catalog /stock/downloads/, the location set to the top folder (/stock/downloads/incomplete/).
The same problem is for example the path to download the transmision - after restarting the application, all paths to the high jump.
This little bug really bothers me, but I do not know what may be the cause - the error is independent of the application (must be graphic), so I bet GNOME.

I only experienced it in Transmission and not every time so I thought I was just mis-clicked. If you can narrow it down probably woth posting it in the gnome/gtk bugzilla.

I tested deluge - there the problem does not occur. Deluge is based on PyGTK.

Don't forget that Deluge is using GTK 2, gnome and transmission are using gtk3
