Geany tried to access the Unix Domain socket of another instance running as another user.
This is a fatal error and Geany will now quit.
this is the error message I get, but I'm not running as any other users... how do I kill all geany processes system wide, I've reinstalled using pacman -Rscn geany; pacman -Scc; paman -S geany but no success, still the same error

You probably ran geany using sudo at one point and the socket was left behind. Try removing /tmp/geany_socket*. Also, make sure that everything under ~/.config/geany is owned by you.

well, a link to the solution (I just found it) describes how to fix it, I don't know if you're supposed to do it though... http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php?topic=7072.0
I did it and it works fine, You were correct stebalien the command that I used was rm ~/.config/geany/geany_socket_UserName__0
